1. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams which is the famous temple of Lord Venkateswara and of the richest Hindu temple in India has deposited 2,780 kg of gold with State Bank of India under long term deposit scheme.
The gold deposits have been converted into the Long Term Deposit Scheme at a rate of 2.5% per annum for a period of 12 years from the date of investment under the Gold Monetisation Scheme.

7.  Canara HSBC Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance Company (CHOICE) has come up with a ‘Point-of-Sale’ product targeted at the mass-market segment. The product- ‘PoS - Easy Bima Plan’ is the first PoS product for the company and is a pure term insurance plan.

8. Solar energy services company Freyr Energy has tied up with Axis Bank to offer term loans ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for tenures up to five years, for solar rooftop installations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

9. NITI Aayog, in partnership with MyGov and the United Nations, announced the winners of the Women Transforming India Awards, 2017.

10. The Union Cabinet has apprised Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and Brazil in October 2016 for cooperation in fields of Zebu Cattle Genomics and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs).
The MoU aims to strengthen existing friendly relations between both countries and promote development of Genomics and ARTs in Cattle through joint activities to be implemented through mutually agreed procedures.

11. The Union Cabinet approved Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up US $40 million India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4F)

12. The premier government think tank National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog has suggested establishment of a judicial performance index (JPI) to check delay in finalisation of cases in lower judiciary.

13. The Union Government (Department of Investment and Public Asset Management) has approved a 100% disinvestment through strategic sale along with transfer of management control of Central Electronics Ltd. (CEL).
CEL was incorporated as CPSE in 1974 under the administrative control of Ministry of Science and Technology. It is wholly owned by the government and has a net worth of Rs. 50.34 crore as on March 2017.

14. The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to end the process of holding interview for selection of candidates for the government jobs in all the non-gazetted posts of Group B, C and D categories.

18. Jaslin Kaur Josan becomes the first Indian Sikh woman to be selected by NASA for the Mars Expedition happening in 2030.
After Kalpana Chawla, Jasleen Kaur Josan becomes the 2nd Indian Women and first Sikh women to be selected by NASA for the Mars Expedition happening in 2030.
The mission called the Orion Mission will be the first man mission to the red planet and candidates were selected from around the world.

22. In a big push to Namami Gange programme, National Mission for Clean Ganga under Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has awarded for the first time contracts for three STPs (Sewage Treatment Plants) under hybrid annuity model. Two STPs of 68 MLD and 14 MLD will be set up at Haridwar and one STP of 15 MLD at Varanasi.

23. 13-year-old Indian-origin boy Dhruv Garg, from Wokingham in south east England, in the UK has got the highest possible score of 162 on a Mensa IQ test, placing him in the top one per cent people in the world who achieved this feat.

24.  Karnataka, the State government has decided to merge various health schemes and launch unified ‘Arogya Bhagya‘ to cover all the 1.4 crore households.
The main theme of the ‘Arogya Bhagya’ scheme is ”Treatment Firstand Payment Next”.

25.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 1.4-kilometre long hanging bridge across the river Chambal in Rajasthan’s Kota. The bridge which is 30 metres wide and 125 metres high, has been built at a cost of around 277.67 crore.


26. The Odisha government said the state has received proposals worth Rs 466 crore for setting up processing units at Seafood Park in Deras, which will process 90,860 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) sea food and generate over 7,000 jobs.

27. BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivasta said that the state-run telecom operator is going to set up 1 lakh Wi-Fi spots across the country by March, 2019. As many as 25,000 Wi-Fi hotspots will be set up in the rural areas.
