1. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd, has been included in the second scheduled to the RBI Act 1934.
This grants the ‘Scheduled Bank’ status to Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’ from the date of notification.

5. Drug pricing regulator NPPA has tied up with National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). It will help athletes to understand medicines that could contain prohibited substances in sports through its app Pharma Jan Samadhan.

6.  India and the European Union have agreed to strengthen cooperation between their security and intelligence agencies to combat the threat of terrorism and check terror financing.
During the 10th India-European Union Counter Terrorism Dialogue in New Delhi, the two sides deliberated extensively on combating terror financing and challenges posed by radicalization.

7. The Indian Space Research Organisation is all set to launch PSLV-C39 carrying Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS-1H). The satellite will lift off from the second launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, on board the rocket PSLV C39.
The launch of IRSO’s eight navigation satellite IRNSS-1H onbaord of PSLV-C39 from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh was unsuccessful. The heat shield did not separate as a result of which satellite did not complete the 4th stage.

  • Under the scheme, a subscriber would receive a minimum guaranteed pension of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per month, depending upon his contribution, from the age of 60 years.

18. The biggest X-ray laser gun on earth named, European X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL), will begin operating in September 2017.
The European XFEL will shoot 27000 laser pulses per second, 200 times more per second than the next highest-performing gun in California.
The 1.5 billion-euro laser replaces its predecessor, FLASH, in Germany.
