1. Himachal Pradesh Cabinet under Chief Minister Virbhadra Singhapproved ‘Heritage Tourism Policy 2017’ & ‘Mukhya Mantri Rural Road Repair Scheme’ along with other developmental and welfare initiatives.

2. Three day global medical conference held in Chandigarh
On 4th October 2017, a three day international medical conference, ‘IMTechCon 2017’, began at CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), in Chandigarh.

3. On 4th October 2017, a report by Norton by Symantec, stated that India ranks first in online harassment, in the Asia Pacific region.
4. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has formed a High-level Task Force on Public Credit Registry (PCR) for India. The task force has been constituted under the chairmanship of Yeshwant M. Deosthalee.

6. Lenders, borrowers cannot have exposure of over Rs 10 lakh on P2P platforms: RBI
The aggregate loans taken by a borrower at any point of time, across all P2P platforms shall not exceed Rs. 10 lakh.

7. Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB)will co-finance a USD 100-million loan for boosting the power sector in India.

13. International Cricket Council (ICC) announced New Zealand all-rounder, Corey Anderson as the event ambassador for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2018.

The under-19 World Cup starts on 13thJanuary 2018. The 16-team tournament will be held in New Zealand for the third time in history. It will be played in four cities.

14. A team of researchers, including those from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US has developed a low-cost rapid test that can quickly and accurately detect Zika and dengue viruses from blood.

15. Adidas launched its new campaign named #HereToCreate, to inspire young football talent in India and to kick start a football revolution.

16. Mahaveer Raghunathan became the first Indian to win a European racing championship, by winning the Boss GP Championship (Formula Class) title, at Imola, Italy.

17. A book titled ‘The Singing Tree’ was launched by an international NGO, Orbis India, to spread awareness on preventing child blindness.

18. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2017 to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) "for its work to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons and for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons".

25. The first ever ASEAN-India music festival began at Purana Quila in New Delhi. The 3-day festival is being organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with Culture Ministry to celebrate the 25th year anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.

27. Government has signed Finance Contract with European Investment Bank (EIB) for lending of €300 million for Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase II Line R6.

The Phase II of metro project is jointly financed by EIB (€500 million) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (€300 million).
